The Board of Directors establishes standing or special committees
to take charge of specific work areas. Standing Academy committees are
shown above.
The chair of each standing or special committee is appointed by the president,
subject to board approval, for a term equivalent to that of the president.
A committee chair serves until a successor is appointed and is responsible
for orderly transition of duties and transfer of committee records to
successors.
The chair of the bylaws committee is the President-Elect.
After the work of a special committee is completed, the committee is
dissolved by the board, the chair is discharged by the president, and
committee records are forwarded to headquarters.
Committee vacancies are filled by the committee chair.
